Islamic Resistance Movement- Hamas:

▪We welcome the New Delhi Declaration 2026 issued by the eighteenth summit of the BRICS group, for the advanced and positive positions it included toward the Palestinian cause and the clear affirmation of the legitimate and inalienable rights of our Palestinian people.

▪We especially appreciate the declaration’s affirmation of our people’s right to self-determination and return, its support for the establishment of an independent sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, its call to grant the State of Palestine full membership in the United Nations, and its firm rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians, temporary or permanent, or any geographic or demographic change in the Gaza Strip.

▪We value the BRICS countries’ affirmation of the need to end the illegal occupation and to reject unilateral measures aimed at changing the legal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem, to respect the sanctity of its holy sites, and their adherence to international and humanitarian law, their condemnation of the use of starvation as a means of war, the targeting of civilians and civilian facilities, and the obstruction of access to humanitarian aid or its politicization and militarization, in addition to their support for UNRWA and its UN mandate.

▪We express our appreciation to the BRICS countries for these positions in support of our people’s rights and the rejection of occupation and displacement, and we call for translating them into practical steps that contribute to stopping the occupation’s violations and ending it, and enabling our people to exercise their right to freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
