Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement:

▪Today marks the forty-fourth anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre of Palestinian refugees in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, one of the most horrific massacres committed by the Zionist entity and its agents, as they overran the camp neighborhoods for three days and nights and carried out forms of barbarity including the killing of hundreds of children and women, beheading and dismemberment, gutting of bellies and gouging out of eyes, along with field executions, abduction, and enforced disappearance, affecting nearly four thousand Palestinian refugees and hundreds of Lebanese citizens.

▪That massacre would not have occurred without the American deception and the failure of international and regional pledges to provide protection for the camps and civilians, leaving them prey to bloodthirsty criminals.

▪The world’s silence and the failure to hold the perpetrators of the Sabra and Shatila massacre accountable for decades, despite the availability of evidence and documented testimonies, encouraged the emergence of new criminals in the usurping entity who commit crimes against humanity and continue a war of extermination against the peoples of our region, especially our Palestinian people and the brotherly Lebanese people, openly and without deterrence, as is happening today in the Gaza Strip, the occupied West Bank, southern Lebanon and southern Syria.

▪The bloody history of the Zionist entity, full of massacres and treachery, and the failure of so-called international community and the lost bet on its sometimes complicit and often helpless institutions, are lessons learned by our peoples and recorded by history and preserved in the memory of the generations of our nation.

▪We call on our people to confront suspicious projects that aim to erase the right of return and liquidate the القضية of Palestine, and to strengthen internal unity away from narrow calculations and agendas, in order to preserve the security of the camps and their surroundings and thwart the plans that target them.
