Government Media Office:

▪Launching an urgent emergency plan led by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, ministerial bodies and government institutions, in cooperation with international institutions and the United Nations working in the Gaza Strip, with the aim of removing cracked and at-risk buildings and evacuating them.

▪This plan is part of the government's efforts to avert the danger surrounding about 255 buildings that are now threatened with total collapse, in the context of keen concern to protect the lives of residents and displaced persons living inside or near them and to provide a safe environment for them.

▪As part of integrated crisis management, the relevant ministries issued firm instructions to begin immediate field procedures and implement the evacuation plan, including formal notices to the owners of dangerous buildings to evacuate immediately, placing warning signs and preventing approach, and providing temporary housing for affected families.

▪On the ground, the relevant government committees continue their efforts to assess the condition of buildings and count the families residing in them, as teams from the Ministry of Social Development carried out inspection rounds in various areas and were able to count dozens of displaced families, while the teams face field obstacles including some building owners' refusal to cooperate, which hinders counting and protecting residents.

▪In light of major national challenges facing this urgent plan, most notably some families' refusal to evacuate dangerous buildings despite warnings, in addition to lack of funding and shortage of machinery and equipment necessary for safe removal, and the issue of the availability of safe land designated for housing the displaced.

▪Despite these obstacles, the concerned parties affirmed their full readiness to participate in the plan, and the efforts of the Egyptian committee stood out, as it announced its readiness to provide transportation means to evacuate the displaced from the buildings and transfer them to the designated shelter centers.

▪We send an urgent appeal to the media in general, and to families, mukhtars, dignitaries, Palestinian clans, and civil society institutions, for community support and awareness to support this national effort.

▪And everyone is called upon to stand together and cooperate with the field teams and to give precedence to the public interest to avoid humanitarian catastrophes that increase the suffering of our people under the current circumstances.
