Ministry of Social Development in Gaza:

▪We warn of the worsening humanitarian catastrophe affecting the lives of hundreds of thousands of displaced families.

▪Reports and data issued by United Nations institutions reflect a critical humanitarian reality, as follows:

▪Situation of the displaced: There are currently between 1.2 and 1.5 million displaced people living in overcrowded, exposed camps that lack the most basic necessities of life.

▪Deterioration of shelter centers: 70% to 80% of the current tents and shelters have suffered damage and complete deterioration due to changing weather conditions and the long period of use.

▪Urgent needs: The minimum required to aid affected families calls for immediate intervention to provide 200000 new tents and 300000 plastic tarpaulins resistant to weather conditions.

▪We call on international parties and humanitarian organizations to act urgently and lift the ban on the entry of relief shipments to address the situation before an unintended humanitarian disaster occurs.
