The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine:

▪We condemn the Peace Council and its representatives’ disregard, during their meeting in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, for the crimes that the Israeli occupation continues to commit daily in the Gaza Strip, in an ongoing genocidal reality under the ceiling of the ceasefire.

▪We warn against bypassing the root of the crisis, represented by the existence of the occupation and its ongoing aggression against land and people, and portraying the problem of the Gaza Strip as if it stops at the absence of good governance or the ability to enforce security, or as if it can be solved by polished plans for reconstruction and digitization.

▪Restricting the Peace Council’s discussions and its promises to practical steps in the weapons file constitutes a reversal of the ceasefire agreement and Security Council Resolution 2803.

▪Despite the injustice of the resolution’s provisions against the Palestinian people, the Israeli occupation, with clear complicity from the executive team in the Peace Council, is working to empty it of its substance and turn it into a tool to achieve the goals of the Israeli war.

▪We affirm that the Palestinian forces’ commitment to the roadmap is conditional on implementing its essence, which is based on reciprocal steps leading to the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from the Gaza Strip.

▪It is not acceptable to turn the roadmap into a unilateral agreement in which the Palestinians fulfill their obligations while the occupation is exempted from its commitments.

▪We warn against the statements contained in the speech of the commander of the international force, which hint at its involvement in activities related to neutralizing weapons in the Gaza Strip, which constitutes a departure from the text of the agreement and the mandate granted to it as a force for stabilization and field separation, not a force for direct confrontation with the people of the Strip.

▪We call on the mediators and the Arab and Islamic states participating in the Peace Council to declare a clear position rejecting attempts by the executive director and the team that includes Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff, and Tony Blair to turn the council into a cover for the objectives of the Israeli war and the continuation of genocide.

▪We appreciate the positions of heads of state who rejected the Israeli aggression and the continuation of genocide at the United Nations General Assembly.

▪We call for these positions to be translated into concrete steps and serious pressure that stops the humanitarian catastrophe and curbs the occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people.
