Privacy Policy

At “Ali Salem – Gaza” we respect the privacy of our visitors. Below we explain which data we collect and why:

1. Data we collect

  • “Contact us” form: name, email address and the message text — used only to reply to the sender’s enquiry.
  • Notification subscriptions: we store your browser’s subscription token (Push Endpoint) to send you breaking-news notifications.
  • Anonymous browsing data (article view statistics) to improve content and performance.
  • Approximate location (country and, when available, region/city) estimated from the network address by a local database — never GPS or precise device location, and the address itself is not stored. It may be affected by the connection or a VPN, is used only in aggregate site statistics and is visible to the editorial team only.
  • Reading tools: “Saved stories” and text size are stored on your browser only (localStorage) and are never sent to us. Anonymous interaction events (saving a story, tapping share, reaching the end of a story, day/night display mode, and media loading errors) are recorded against the anonymous session without identifying the person.

2. How we use the data

We use the data above exclusively to run the site, contact you when needed and improve the reading experience. We do not sell your data or share it with any third party for marketing purposes.

3. Unsubscribing from notifications

You can stop receiving notifications at any time from your browser settings (Settings → Site Settings → Notifications → remove the site from the list). Your subscription is deleted from our servers automatically after the first failed delivery attempt.

4. Data retention and protection

Data is stored in secured databases and is accessible only to the editorial team when administratively necessary.

5. Contact us

For any privacy enquiry or to request deletion of your data, write to us at:alisalemps.com@gmail.com
