Palestinian Journalists Forum: We are following the false and distorted Israeli claims about the work of hospitals in the Gaza Strip
Palestinian Journalists Forum: ▪We are following the false and distorted Israeli claims about the work of hospitals in the Gaza Strip, and the accompanying attempts and campaigns to present false and one-sided narratives about the nature of the work of health institutions and their humanitarian role in light of a catastrophic humanitarian and health reality. ▪Verifying these claims does not come through the statements and toxic propaganda continuously broadcast by the occupation army against the health system and those working in it, but through independent and direct access to the field, which requires allowing journalists and international media outlets to enter the Gaza Strip, freely view the reality of hospitals and health facilities, listen to medical teams and patients, and convey the picture as it is from the field. ▪The continued ban on the international press from entering Gaza since the beginning of the genocide deprives global public opinion of an independent source to verify facts, and expands the space for conflicting narratives and unverifiable information that the Israeli occupation has broadcast and continues to broadcast, and which has been proven false and untrue more than once during the war and the occupation of more than one hospital in the Gaza Strip by the occupation army. ▪We call for opening the Gaza Strip to the international press without restrictions and lifting the Israeli ban on this, and for ensuring the safety of journalists and their right to access information and work freely and independently, as this is a basic right of the press and a necessity to ensure independent professional reporting on everything taking place inside the Strip. ▪We call on international press institutions and organizations concerned with media freedom to intensify their efforts to demand the immediate and independent entry of international journalists into Gaza, and not to allow the absence of international media from the field to become a tool to conceal facts or impose a single narrative on global public opinion.
