Gaza Ministry of Health: ▪ The acute shortage crisis and the unprecedented collapse in essential laboratory capacities, which are the backbone of diagnosis and follow-up of the conditions of thousands of patients in all medical departments, have worsened. ▪ Medical laboratories are now living through a catastrophic reality and lack the most important requirements for the continuity of service, particularly chemical testing devices, which are considered the backbone of daily medical care. ▪ The laboratory system has suffered a devastating blow that led to the destruction of 52% of all devices and their complete removal from service. ▪ The devices that are still working are breathing their last, as 30% of them are worn out, highly prone to malfunctions, and completely lack spare parts, placing them at risk of total and sudden stoppage at any moment. ▪ The need has become critical and urgent to bring in modern laboratory devices as an immediate replacement for what was destroyed to ensure that the wheel of health care does not stop completely. ▪ The continuation of this crisis at its catastrophic levels is not merely a logistical crisis, but a direct sentence stripping medical teams of their most important diagnostic tools, which will have a serious and direct impact on patients' lives. ▪ We call for urgent and immediate intervention to bring in new laboratory devices and the necessary spare parts to save what can be saved before laboratory service stops completely.
