Mohammad Abu Dan:

▪ Before dawn today, a residential building collapsed onto displaced people who were inside it as a result of its foundations cracking due to a previous Israeli bombardment in Gaza City.

▪ More than 10 families were residing in the 5-storey building, which has a population of more than 70 people.

▪ The building had been bombed previously, and the displaced people were forced to live in it due to the lack of other shelters.

▪ Civil defense teams are making efforts to save what can be saved and recover the victims from under the building's rubble.

▪ Rescue operations and the search for victims or survivors are taking place with extreme difficulty due to the lack of resources and necessary equipment.

▪ The civil defense agency lacks the heavy equipment needed to deal with such incidents.

▪ We have sought assistance from the Egyptian committee and the International Committee of the Red Cross to help recover the victims and save what can be saved from under the rubble.
