Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine:

▪ We strongly condemn the heinous Israeli massacre that targeted safe Palestinian citizens in Gaza City and resulted in the martyrdom of five civilians while they were asleep, and the continued targeting of Palestinian civilians, and the falling of casualties among them constitutes a serious violation of the ceasefire and of the obligations of the parties and the sponsoring and guaranteeing parties.

▪ Targeting citizens in Gaza City, amid the catastrophic humanitarian conditions experienced by the people of the Strip, once again reveals the extent of the dangers that the Palestinian people still face, and confirms that the ceasefire cannot become a cover for the continuation of attacks and killing against civilians.

▪ What are the reasons for this silence regarding the ongoing crimes against Palestinian civilians? And where are the positions of condemnation and practical action to stop these violations?

▪ If the council was formed to contribute to consolidating peace, protecting civilians, and preventing the renewal of war, how can its silence in the face of targeting unarmed citizens be explained, and what measures has it taken to stop these attacks and ensure respect for the ceasefire and the stopping of the war?

▪ We ask about the absence of the voices of the mediators, foremost among them the United States and the countries guaranteeing the ceasefire, in the face of the ongoing Israeli attacks; where are the guarantees that were presented to the Palestinian people? And where is the political, moral, and legal responsibility for the repeated violations whose price Palestinian civilians are paying with their blood and lives?

▪ Merely remaining silent or issuing general statements is no longer sufficient, and the parties that undertook the role of mediation and guaranteeing the ceasefire and stopping the war are required to turn their commitments into practical and tangible steps, in a way that ensures an end to attacks on civilians, holding those responsible accountable, and preventing their recurrence.

▪ We call on the United Nations, the Security Council, and the international parties sponsoring and guaranteeing the ceasefire to assume their responsibilities, and to take immediate measures to ensure the protection of Palestinian civilians, stop violations, secure the delivery of humanitarian aid, and prevent the use of the truce as a cover for the continuation of killing and targeting.

▪ Any agreement to cease fire and stop the war has no real value unless it guarantees the lives and safety of civilians, puts an end to attacks and violations, and is coupled with clear mechanisms for accountability, monitoring, and implementation.

▪ The Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip do not need new statements of sympathy, but rather effective protection, binding guarantees, and measures that stop the attacks and protect their lives and rights, and open the way toward ending their suffering and rebuilding the Gaza Strip and addressing its catastrophic effects.

The National Gathering of Palestinian Tribes, Clans and Families: the occupation is waging a comprehensive war on our Palestinian people, targeting them in all their components, and continues to carry out its war of extermination after one year of the October 2023 agreement.

The National Gathering of Palestinian Tribes, Clans and Families: ▪the occupation is waging a comprehensive war on our Palestinian people, targeting them in all their components, and continues to carry out its war of extermination after one year of the October 2023 agreement. ▪the occupation executed 30 of our Christian people during the war of extermination and erased an entire family from Al-Souri; and targeted the church’s various religious, cultural and educational assets. ▪We mourn the martyrs (killed) Mari Hafez Abu Dawood and her daughter Misa Abu Dawood, who were martyred (killed) at dawn today as a result of an Israeli strike that targeted a residential apartment west of Gaza City. ▪We affirm that Palestinian blood is one, and that what our people are exposed to does not distinguish between Muslim and Christian; Gaza’s Christians lived through siege, hunger, bombing and displacement alongside their people, and paid a heavy price in lives and property. ▪The Israeli attacks reached churches and Christian religious, educational and cultural institutions; including the Church of the Holy Family, the Holy Family School, the Orthodox Cultural Center, and the Sisters of the Rosary School, in addition to previous damage to the Church of Saint Porphyrius. ▪What is happening in Gaza, in parallel with the attacks and violations affecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and the rest of the Palestinian territories, reflects the seriousness of the situation faced by Palestinian civilians of all sects. ▪The continued martyrdom (killed) of civilians and damage to houses of worship and religious and educational institutions requires effective international action to ensure the protection of civilians, houses of worship and civilian facilities, stop military operations that put their lives at risk, and comply with the rules of international humanitarian law. ▪Protecting the Palestinian human being, whether Muslim or Christian, and protecting their holy sites and their right to life and security, is a responsibility the international community must not evade.
