Medical Transfer Committee at the Ministry of Health in Gaza: the Israeli occupation continues to close the Rafah land crossing to the evacuation of patients and injured people who meet the criteria and are registered on the approved travel lists.
Medical Transfer Committee at the Ministry of Health in Gaza:
▪The Israeli occupation continues to close the Rafah land crossing to the evacuation of patients and injured people who meet the criteria and are registered on the approved travel lists.
▪This ongoing and unjustified closure deprives dozens of critical cases from leaving the Strip during the three days allocated weekly to coordinate medical evacuation, disrupting the approved evacuation schedules.
▪The occupation’s measures are worsening the suffering of patients and injured people who have waited long weeks to obtain the necessary security, medical, and approval clearances.
▪The repeated obstruction threatens the lives of patients with incurable and life-saving diseases such as cancer, kidney failure, and severe injuries, as each day of delay negatively affects their response to treatment and chances of recovery.
▪This closure is draining the already fragile capacities of local hospitals and placing medical teams before extreme challenges to accommodate cases that need specialized centers outside the Strip.
▪The Ministry of Health calls on UN institutions and human rights bodies to apply urgent pressure to open the crossing sustainably and facilitate the departure of emergency cases without obstacles or delay.
