Medical Referrals Committee at the Ministry of Health in Gaza: The time needed to evacuate the current list of patients and wounded people (about 21,000 patients) through the currently approved travel mechanism is a full four years
Medical Referrals Committee at the Ministry of Health in Gaza:
▪ The time needed to evacuate the current list of patients and wounded people (about 21,000 patients) through the currently approved travel mechanism is a full four years, without counting any additional medical cases!
▪ Based on the continued approval of new medical referrals each month, travel will take four additional years to address the newly accumulated cases.
▪ According to the overall estimate, the total travel time for patients extends to a full eight years; this represents a direct and slow death sentence for thousands of patients whose bodies cannot endure waiting for days or weeks, let alone eight years!
▪ These figures are not just dry statistics, but a loud cry for help for more than 21,000 people who are daily deprived of their basic right to treatment and life.
▪ The Ministry of Health holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the lives of these patients and wounded people, and calls urgently on the international community, the United Nations, and all humanitarian and human rights institutions to intervene immediately and exert serious pressure to open the crossings fully and sustainably, and to facilitate the خروج of patients and wounded people without restriction or condition before it is too late.
