Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine: We warn of the return of the specter of starvation to the Gaza Strip, amid the Israeli occupation’s manipulation of the movement of the crossings and the creation of pretexts to tighten restrictions on the entry of aid and goods
Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine:
▪ We warn of the return of the specter of starvation to the Gaza Strip, amid the Israeli occupation’s manipulation of the movement of the crossings and the creation of pretexts to tighten restrictions on the entry of aid and goods, and the exploitation of international preoccupation to continue policies of extermination.
▪ We affirm the occupation’s continued evasion of the humanitarian protocol stipulating the entry of 600 trucks per day, as the total number of trucks that entered during the first year of the ceasefire agreement did not exceed 35% of the agreed number.
▪ The restrictions imposed in recent days aim to deplete the stock of markets that are already suffering from a shortage of basic goods, in preparation for a return to the drip-feed policy, in parallel with the dissemination of misleading narratives about the volume and type of supplies to cover up the continued siege and starvation.
▪ We warn of the intersection of this policy with the tightening of the work of relief institutions and their funding crisis, which prompted the World Food Programme to reduce its assistance and deprive nearly half a million people of food support, further choking the means of life and exposing the population to a slow death.
▪ We call on international organizations, Arab and Islamic states, and free people of the world to intensify pressure to open the crossings and ensure the flow of aid and goods in an immediate, sufficient, and sustainable manner, and to end the occupation’s control over their access.
▪ We hold the "Peace Council" and the Security Council responsible for failing to ensure the implementation of the humanitarian protocol, and we criticize the Peace Council’s continued adoption of the Israeli narrative instead of compelling the occupation to implement its commitments.
