Palestine Islamic Jihad Movement:

▪On this day in 1995, Dr. Fathi Shiqaqi, founder of the Palestine Islamic Jihad Movement and one of the most prominent Palestinian national figures who elevated the Palestinian cause to new levels of struggle and conflict with the occupation, was martyred following a treacherous assassination carried out by the Zionist Mossad in Malta.

▪Martyr Shiqaqi redefined the conflict with the Zionist occupation within the framework of the comprehensive Western assault directed at the heart of our Arab and Islamic nation, as the spearhead of the Western military attack that targets not only Palestine but also the fragmentation of the peoples of our nation, the division of our homelands, and the imposition of Westernization and total dependency through terrorism and ongoing wars, warning that the danger of the Zionist project does not stop at the borders of Palestine alone, but seeks to expand and impose hegemony and control over the entire region, control its decision-making, and seize its resources at the expense of its peoples and inhabitants.

▪What the reality is witnessing today, in terms of exposing the Zionist project for what it really is, and what the occupation is practicing in the form of a war of extermination and crimes against humanity, and the expansion of the occupation in Syria and Lebanon, and threats to the peoples of our nation, and attempts to impose domination over the region with unlimited Western support and under direct supervision from the US administration, confirms the danger of the Zionist project to everyone.

▪We reiterate the principles established by the martyred doctor and his brothers, namely the ضرورة of considering Palestine as the central cause of the Arab and Islamic peoples, as a symbol of the nation’s dignity and one of the most prominent factors of its unity in confronting Western and Zionist schemes, and that the path of jihad and resistance is the only way to confront these schemes, and that faith, awareness, revolution, and the unity of the national and Islamic ranks are the necessary tools to achieve that.

▪Dr. Shiqaqi’s thought, may God have mercy on him, bore fruit in transferring the confrontation with the occupation into the occupied land itself, and in the heroic steadfastness of the Al-Quds Brigades, alongside the rest of the resistance forces and their military wings, in confronting the occupation and facing it on many occasions, offering in that cause the best of its leaders, cadres, and sons with all pride and honor.

▪Through its brave battalions in the West Bank, the Brigades were at the forefront of the clashes with the occupation army in the West Bank camps and cities, in defense of our land and our holy sites, foremost among them the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

▪On this occasion, we affirm our commitment to the principles for which we set out, and that we will spare no effort to defend our people in Gaza, bring aid into the Strip, force the withdrawal of the enemy army, reconstruction, restore internal unity, and thwart the occupation’s projects in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

▪May God have mercy on martyr leader Fathi Shiqaqi, who represented a living model of the field intellectual who engages in the causes of his people and nation, practices his convictions as field action, inspires the revolution, and strengthens determination in the hearts of generations.

▪He offered his pure soul and his precious blood for the sake of God in defense of the sanctities of the nation and its dignity.
