▪ Children who are left without proper psychological care will suffer major educational losses, and the trauma may be passed from one generation to the next. ▪ All of Gaza’s children, numbering about 1.2 million children, have been exposed to food shortages and traumatic events, while violations, attacks and displacement operations continue despite the ceasefire. ▪ About 90% of Gaza’s residents are currently living in displacement areas inside tents and shelters that lack the most basic necessities of life, while we are treating thousands of people through mobile community centers. ▪ The psychological impact of two years of continuous exposure to trauma has not stopped, because traumatic events are still happening while the resources needed for recovery are unavailable. ▪ Children have suffered from hunger, stunted growth and weight loss, and have shown symptoms of bedwetting, night terror, nightmares and sleepwalking, in addition to aggression and frustration. ▪ Basic needs for children are not available, including education, which is being resumed after years of interruption inside unequipped tents. ▪ Early intervention is essential to return children to schools and help them regain their skills and discipline. ▪ Neglecting children means losing generations, not one generation, because trauma can be passed across generations. ▪ Mental health must be a key component in any plan to revive Gaza.

▪ We are closely following the political and diplomatic activity taking place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, and the accompanying speeches and positions issued by Arab and Islamic states and friendly states supporting the rights of our Palestinian people. ▪ We express our appreciation for the clear positions expressed by Arab and Islamic states and many countries around the world, which condemn the aggression and the ongoing violations against our people in the Gaza Strip and call for it to stop, the siege to be lifted, humanitarian aid to flow without obstacles, and the occupation to be held accountable for the massacres, crimes of genocide, and grave violations it has committed against civilians. ▪ We value the Arab, Islamic and international rejection of the plans for forced displacement, and the annexation, settlement and replacement projects being pursued by the occupation government in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, and we affirm that our people will remain committed to their land and national rights, and will confront all attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause or impose new facts by force. ▪ We welcome every serious regional and international effort that contributes to ending our people’s suffering and the aggression against them. We affirm the importance of translating the positions, meetings and statements issued by Arab and Muslim leaders and ministers into effective political and diplomatic action that exerts real pressure to stop the occupation’s violations and oblige it to meet the requirements of the signed agreements and understandings. ▪ We affirm that any political plans or initiatives under discussion should be based on respect for the will of our Palestinian people and their inalienable national rights, foremost among them their legitimate right to self-determination, ending the occupation, and establishing their independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
