The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine: ▪We mourn the martyrs Ashraf Dahlan, Shadi Abu Ataya and Sami Baroud, employees of the security staff at the Islamic University, who were killed while on duty, and we extend our deepest condolences to their families, the university administration, and their colleagues. ▪The targeting by Israeli occupation aircraft of the university with two airstrikes, coinciding with the start of in-person classes, constitutes an attack on efforts for societal recovery in the Gaza Strip and the restoration of its educational and national institutions, as well as the resumption of the educational process. ▪We call on academic and educational institutions around the world to stand in solidarity with the universities of the Gaza Strip, which are being subjected to systematic Israeli targeting that affects educational institutions and the foundations of their continuity, within the framework of the comprehensive war of extermination on the Palestinian presence in the Strip. ▪We call on free people around the world to escalate solidarity activities and pressure governments to take serious positions and measures that put an end to the occupation's crimes, the war of extermination, and the plans for ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people.

Director of Policies and Planning at the Gaza Ministry of Agriculture, Baha al-Agha:
▪ The war on the Gaza Strip has caused destruction across all aspects of life and economic sectors, especially the agricultural sector, which has been almost completely destroyed. ▪ About 87.6% of the agricultural land in the Gaza Strip has been completely damaged, with extensive damage to soil, water wells, irrigation networks, and transmission lines. ▪ The various agricultural sectors, including livestock production and fish production, have suffered damage ranging between 85% and 90%. ▪ A report by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) stated that only about 3% of exposed agricultural land can be safely accessed and is undamaged, covering an area of approximately 4480 dunams. ▪ About 2240 dunams of greenhouses can be safely accessed, representing nearly 16% of the total greenhouses. ▪ In general, the area of exposed agricultural land and greenhouses that can be safely accessed and cultivated does not exceed 4% of the total agricultural land in the Strip. ▪ More than 70% of agricultural land has become located within areas controlled by the occupation, in what is known as the "yellow line". ▪ The occupation imposes a tight blockade on agricultural production inputs and does not allow the entry of fertilizers, seeds, seedlings, and pesticides, which hinders the resumption of agricultural production in the Gaza Strip. ▪ The shortage of production inputs has led to higher prices for agricultural products, which have become heavily dependent on imported materials and products, making them out of reach for a large segment of citizens. ▪ The autumn agricultural season is currently one of the most important seasons in the Gaza Strip because it relies on the rainy season, but the cultivated areas in it have not yet become clear. ▪ The previous season covered a cultivated area of about 3100 dunams only, despite the great need for agricultural production. ▪ Farmers are also facing the spread of agricultural pests, including the Tuta absoluta insect, which has caused damage to tomato crops amid the unavailability of the necessary pesticides to combat it inside the Strip. ▪ The spread of this insect has caused major losses for farmers and their crops. ▪ The استمرار of the occupation's policies threatens to stop the agricultural production process completely amid widespread destruction that has affected various economic and productive sectors in the Gaza Strip.
