Union of Municipalities of the Gaza Strip:
▪ We are following with deep sorrow and grief the collapse of a six-story residential building in the Al-Sina'a area in Gaza City at dawn today, Wednesday, which led to the martyrdom of a number of martyrs and injured people, and there are still missing persons, including children, women and the elderly, amid ongoing search and rescue efforts and the extraction of those trapped fromUnder the rubble since the incident occurred.
▪ We extend our sincerest condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs, asking the Almighty to envelop them in His vast mercy, to grant the injured a speedy recovery, and to protect the citizens from all harm.
▪ The urgent priority at this moment is saving lives, providing first aid to the injured, and evacuating those trapped and the martyrs from under the rubble, which requires immediate intervention by providing heavy equipment and machinery to enable the teams to reach the victims and rescue them as quickly as possible, as municipal and rescue work faces a severe shortage of the heavy equipment and machinery needed, in addition to a shortage of spare parts, oils and operating supplies for old machinery and equipment.
▪ The danger of continued building collapses will affect thousands of buildings at risk of collapse in all governorates of the Gaza Strip as a result of the shelling during the war of extermination and the severe damage that followed, and the inability of municipalities and civil defense to remove them, which poses a direct danger to the lives of citizens and warns of further disasters if urgent intervention is not made.
▪ We appeal to the international community, humanitarian institutions, donor bodies and all relevant parties to intervene immediately and urgently in order to:
- Provide the heavy machinery and equipment necessary for search and rescue operations and rubble removal.
- Support rescue teams and enable them to provide first aid to the injured and evacuate them, and to recover the martyrs and missing persons as quickly as possible.
- Provide spare parts, oils and maintenance and operating supplies for heavy machinery and equipment.
- Bring safe mobile homes (caravans) into the Gaza Strip before the winter season to be used as a safe alternative to tents and buildings at risk of collapse, and to provide shelter that preserves the life and dignity of affected families, especially with the risks to buildings in winter from rain, wind and harsh weather conditions.
▪ We affirm that time is a decisive factor in saving and preserving lives, and that the continued shortage of equipment and capabilities constitutes an obstacle to rescue efforts and emergency response.
▪ We call for urgent and immediate action before more victims fall, with thousands of citizens threatened by damaged and at-risk buildings.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine: ▪We mourn the martyrs Ashraf Dahlan, Shadi Abu Ataya and Sami Baroud, employees of the security staff at the Islamic University, who were killed while on duty, and we extend our deepest condolences to their families, the university administration, and their colleagues. ▪The targeting by Israeli occupation aircraft of the university with two airstrikes, coinciding with the start of in-person classes, constitutes an attack on efforts for societal recovery in the Gaza Strip and the restoration of its educational and national institutions, as well as the resumption of the educational process. ▪We call on academic and educational institutions around the world to stand in solidarity with the universities of the Gaza Strip, which are being subjected to systematic Israeli targeting that affects educational institutions and the foundations of their continuity, within the framework of the comprehensive war of extermination on the Palestinian presence in the Strip. ▪We call on free people around the world to escalate solidarity activities and pressure governments to take serious positions and measures that put an end to the occupation's crimes, the war of extermination, and the plans for ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people.
