▪We strongly condemn the continued and escalating targeting by the Israeli occupation of Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip, the latest of which was the horrific crime that claimed the women who were killed in the targeting of "Asala Tower," in a scene that embodies the depth of the tragedy and the genocide that affects everyone without discrimination. ▪Statistics issued by the Ministry of Health indicate the martyrdom of 11,900 women during the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, which requires stressing that targeting women and depriving them of their inherent right to life and safety regardless of their ages or religions constitutes a blatant violation of human dignity and a complete denial of the rules of international humanitarian law and the charters that require the protection of civilians in times of war. ▪Women in Gaza are not numbers in casualty statistics, but mothers, daughters, and sisters united by one destiny and the legitimate right to life, dignity, and safety. ▪We call on the international community, human rights and UN institutions, and women’s and children’s protection bodies to break their silence and assume their moral and legal responsibilities. ▪We emphasize the need for urgent action to pressure the occupation to stop targeting civilians and women and to activate international accountability and responsibility tools to ensure that it does not escape punishment for these violations.
Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas: World Teachers’ Day falls today, October 5
Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas: ▪World Teachers’ Day falls on October 5, while the occupation’s crimes against education in Palestine continue after three years of educational and cultural genocide. ▪The fascist occupation government has destroyed more than 90% of the infrastructure of schools and universities in the Gaza Strip, and has killed more than 1050 male and female teachers, while continuing to target teachers in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem with arrest, pursuit, harassment and killing, in violation of our people’s right to education and in disregard for international laws and conventions. ▪The escalation of these crimes places responsibility on the international community and the relevant institutions to criminalize them, stop them, and support the educational sector, and to provide the means for the continuation of the educational process and support our people’s right to education. ▪We salute male and female teachers and their role in our people’s struggle, and we greet them for carrying out their mission despite the repercussions of the war of extermination, limited resources, and the occupation’s escalation of its crimes and violations. ▪We affirm that attempts to Israelize education and its curricula, and to target educational institutions in Jerusalem, will not erase its Arab and Islamic identity or undermine the Jerusalemite generation’s attachment to it and defense of it. ▪We call on Arab and Islamic states and free people around the world to move to protect and support the educational system in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, and to create the humanitarian and material conditions, a safe environment, and the necessary alternatives for the continuation of education and the failure of the occupation’s goals. ▪We pray for the souls of the martyrs (killed) among male and female teachers and the martyrs (killed) of our people, and we ask God for healing for the wounded and sick, and freedom for the prisoners and detainees in the occupation’s prisons.
