General Administration for Family and Women at the Ministry of Social Development in Gaza
▪We strongly condemn the continued and escalating targeting by the Israeli occupation of Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip, the latest of which was the horrific crime that claimed the women who were killed in the targeting of "Asala Tower," in a scene that embodies the depth of the tragedy and the genocide that affects everyone without discrimination.
▪Statistics issued by the Ministry of Health indicate the martyrdom of 11,900 women during the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, which requires stressing that targeting women and depriving them of their inherent right to life and safety regardless of their ages or religions constitutes a blatant violation of human dignity and a complete denial of the rules of international humanitarian law and the charters that require the protection of civilians in times of war.
▪Women in Gaza are not numbers in casualty statistics, but mothers, daughters, and sisters united by one destiny and the legitimate right to life, dignity, and safety.
▪We call on the international community, human rights and UN institutions, and women’s and children’s protection bodies to break their silence and assume their moral and legal responsibilities.
▪We emphasize the need for urgent action to pressure the occupation to stop targeting civilians and women and to activate international accountability and responsibility tools to ensure that it does not escape punishment for these violations.
