Gaza & Palestine
Social Development in Gaza:
▪We confirm that the tragedy that claimed the lives of a number of displaced persons and the loss of dozens at dawn today under a building that was about to collapse in Gaza City is a direct result of the occupation’s policy of preventing the entry of mobile homes, tents, and safe shelter equipment. ▪More than 100 displaced persons, including women and children, were forced to live in a building that was about to collapse after the occupation destroyed their original homes, and they found no safe alternative due to the closure of the crossings and the prevention of the entry of shelter supplies. ▪The occupation’s expansion of the yellow line forced citizens to flee and live in destroyed and collapsing houses and homes. ▪We hold the international community responsible for the slow entry of the equipment necessary to protect citizens and remove rubble, and we call on it to pressure the occupation to provide funding and allow the entry of equipment and shelter supplies into the Gaza Strip.
Haq Center for Human Rights:
▪Collapse of a 6-story residential building in the industrial area southwest of Gaza City at dawn on Wednesday, 16 September, as a result of damage and cracks during the war. ▪Preliminary toll: 15 citizens killed, including 5 children, around 20 injured, and more than 70 people still trapped under the rubble. ▪More than 50 families lived in the building and its surroundings, most of them displaced persons. ▪We warn that thousands of civilians face the same danger because of damaged buildings without inspection, reinforcement, or safe removal. ▪The Civil Defense’s inability to respond quickly is worsening due to a shortage of machinery, equipment, fuel, and spare parts. ▪We warn of the danger posed by damaged buildings with the approaching winter and the continued restrictions on bringing in repair and reconstruction materials. ▪We call for lifting restrictions on construction, repair, reinforcement materials, and rescue equipment, and for providing heavy machinery, fuel, and spare parts to the Civil Defense. ▪We call for an urgent engineering survey of damaged buildings, evacuation of those at risk of collapse, and the provision of temporary and safe housing for residents and displaced persons.
Gaza Health:
▪The total number of arrivals to hospitals in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours was: 6 martyrs and 71 injured ▪Since the ceasefire (11 October 2025 until today): - Total martyrs: 1,381 martyrs - Total injuries: 4,757 injured - Total recoveries from under the rubble: 831 cases ▪Cumulative toll since the beginning of the aggression: - Total martyrs: 73,795 martyrs - Total injuries: 174,869 injured ▪Up to this moment, the collapse of a damaged residential building has resulted in the martyrdom of 16 citizens and the injury of more than 25 others, and a number of citizens are still missing under the rubble. ▪This brings the total number of victims of collapses of buildings damaged by the aggression to 50 deaths.
Palestinian Center for the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared:
▪ The collapse of a damaged building in Gaza leaves 100 missing, and the lack of heavy equipment undermines chances of rescuing those trapped. ▪ The collapse of a six-story residential building in Gaza resulted in the death of 12 Palestinians and the injury of 25 others. ▪ One hundred people are still missing or trapped under the rubble of the collapsed building. ▪ The collapse of the building is directly due to cracks and structural damage it sustained from a previous Israeli bombardment. ▪ Dozens of displaced people were forced to live inside the building amid the absence of any safe shelter options, and because of the destruction of 90% of the sector's buildings. ▪ The tragedy once again highlights the case of more than 5000 missing persons who remain under the rubble. ▪ Civil Defense warns of the existence of about 2000 buildings at risk of collapse, threatening repeated sudden collapses, especially with the approach of winter. ▪ Civil Defense teams need more than three days to deal with one collapse site due to operational incapacity. ▪ Israel's systematic obstruction of the entry of rescue equipment squanders the chances of survival for those trapped under the rubble and deprives them of a rapid response. ▪ The international community is called on to urgently pressure for the immediate lifting of the ban on the entry of machinery and heavy equipment for rescue teams. ▪ We call for an urgent engineering assessment of buildings threatened with collapse, and the provision of safe and alternative shelter centers for the displaced.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine:
▪ We mourn the martyrs of the collapse of the Al-Saada building on Al-Sinaa Street west of Gaza City, which resulted in the martyrdom of 11 citizens as an initial toll, including five children, and the injury of dozens of citizens, while about one hundred remain missing under the rubble, in addition to the martyrdom of a number of resistance leaders who were killed in cowardly Zionist assassination crimes in recent hours. ▪ We hold full responsibility for this crime, and we also hold the so-called "Peace Council" and the international community responsible for providing political cover for the continuation of the occupation's crimes and covering up its ongoing aggression, as a result of the inability to stop the crimes and protect civilians, which contributed to the continuation and worsening of the humanitarian catastrophe. ▪ The collapse of the building came as a result of it having been targeted previously and left on the verge of collapse, amid pushing displaced people to shelter in destroyed buildings threatened with collapse, and the absence of safe shelters. ▪ We warn against Netanyahu's exploitation of the war and Palestinian blood in his internal calculations, and against any escalation or new expansion in the Gaza Strip, and call for the immediate start of implementing the humanitarian protocol and bringing in renovation equipment, rubble removal, maintenance of infrastructure and temporary homes (caravans) without any delay, as what is happening is an attempt to perpetuate multiple forms of death to be the only fate awaiting the people of Gaza as a result of the measures and aggression of the occupation government, which places on its agenda nothing but extermination and ethnic cleansing against Palestinians. ▪ We demand an end to the aggression, the lifting of the siege, and the entry of rescue equipment and fuel, especially with the approach of winter, which threatens to exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe, and also call for international action to pursue the occupation leaders, impose sanctions and ban arms supplies, and demand that the mediators intervene and pressure to stop this ongoing massacre, and save civilians trapped inside or between destroyed buildings or those at risk of collapse.
Intense gunfire from Israeli tanks and helicopters east of Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip

They slept in it seeking shelter… then it collapsed on top of them
A humanitarian tragedy, after Al-Sa'ada building in the Industrial area west of Gaza City collapsed due to severe damage caused by a previous bombardment, while more than 100 people were inside, having taken refuge there. To date, civil defense teams have recovered the bodies of 14 martyrs, while dozens of missing people remain under the rubble.

Health Information Center Director Zahir Al-Wahidi:
▪Gaza Strip is facing a severe health crisis that is pushing the health system toward a path amounting to systematic mass execution, surpassing the limits of humanitarian catastrophe to a fully fledged crime of health genocide. ▪Health facilities have turned into isolated structures slowly dying as a result of the ongoing siege and the prevention of the entry of basic necessities of life. ▪Israeli claims about facilitating the entry of aid and supplies appear to be an untrue claim and a spectacle aimed at polishing the face of genocide and covering up the war of ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip. ▪The available inputs represent only a tiny percentage that does not meet the minimum operational needs of health facilities, leaving them struggling between life and death. ▪Hospitals are suffering from a severe shortage of fuel, oils, and spare parts needed to operate the remaining main generators, with more than 70% of them out of service, threatening the suspension of life-critical departments at any moment. ▪The siege and the prevention of the entry of spare parts and car tires led public transport companies to announce an almost complete halt to work today, depriving hundreds of medical staff of reaching their workplaces and isolating hospitals from the ability to respond to emergencies. ▪This coincides with an unprecedented shortage of medicines and consumables, the shutdown of diagnostic devices, and the closure of treatment outlets abroad for patients and wounded people on waiting lists. ▪We call on the international community, the Security Council, the World Health Organization, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and all international and human rights institutions to move immediately to bring in the necessary medical and operational supplies. ▪History will not forgive the silent; contenting oneself with concern and condemnation is no longer merely moral failure, but an explicit complicity in a crime of genocide being committed openly in broad daylight.
